Lancaster ISD Hosts Second Annual Hispanic Heritage Bowl

Thursday, October 1, 2015

In honor of Hispanic Heritage month, the Lancaster Independent School District will host its second annual Hispanic Heritage Bowl competition Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at 6 PM the Lancaster High School Auditorium.

The 2-hour academic competition will feature teams from the district’s elementary and secondary campuses. Teams will compete in several rounds by answering a series of questions focused on Hispanic history and heritage with the hopes of placing 1st, 2nd or 3rd. Teams placing in the top two spots, in the elementary and secondary brackets, will win an all-expense paid summer history trip and college tour with the district.

The event will also feature live performances by Lancaster ISD students and other invited guests. The district’s Fine Arts Department will also showcase student artwork inspired by the Hispanic culture throughout the show.

For more information on the Hispanic Heritage Bowl, please contact Antoinette Mathews at AntionetteMathews@LancasterISD.org or Daisy Thompson at 972-218-1409.
