Lancaster, TX/Lancaster ISD

Lancaster High School senior Izayah Allen won first place in Integrated Physics and Chemistry (IPC) and third place in STATS at the Texas Alliance for Minorities in Engineering (TAME) statewide competition at Texas A&M.

Allen was selected to compete in the based on his placement in the (IPC) subject area at the Dallas chapter regional competition last month. He became a member of the Dallas Chapter of TAME when he joined the Junior Engineering Alliance Club at Lancaster High School. In his high school organization, Allen holds the position of Vice-President and is a charter member of Lancaster’s National Society of Black Engineer’s chapter due to his membership in the engineering club.

“I am so proud of him, shared Cornelia McCowan, advisor in the LHS College and Career Readiness Center and one who was instrumental in connecting Allen with this opportunity. “Izayah’s win is exciting because it enables him to apply for scholarships and internships within the TAME organization.”
