Lancaster ISD Academic Acceleration Academy

(8-12 Grade)

 

The mission of Lancaster ISD Academic Acceleration Academy is to graduate students that are academically, socially, and emotionally prepared for self –sufficiency.  The individual needs of each student will be met to develop their self-esteem and to motivate them to become responsible, contributing members of society.  Lancaster ISD Academic Acceleration Academy provides a flexible learning environment for students who must juggle demanding schedules in regard to employment, family situations or person preference. Lancaster ISD Academic Acceleration Academy provides the opportunity for students to receive a high school diploma while they continue to manage their many and varied responsibilities

 

Lancaster ISD Academic Acceleration Academy educational experience is a mixture of classroom instruction and on-line curriculum (ODESSEYWARE) along with guidance and support of highly qualified teachers.  The 6 wk courses are aligned to sate and national standards.

 

Courses will be offered through a flexible schedule that can be completed within a 6 wk period and during the summer in place of our traditional summer school.  The students will receive the grade (s) earned through ODESSEYWARE.

 

Eligibility is determined through the application process.  The current student application will be completed by the student, parent and
counselor for the recommendations of the principal(s) and the approval of superintendent’s designee.

 

Non-Enrolled Student Application (over 18) will be completed by the student and dropped-off or mailed to Lancaster ISD Academic Acceleration Academy.

 Admission to Lancaster ISD Academic Acceleration Academy is based on the following criteria: 
  • The student is 16 years or older on or before September 1 of the entering school year and is currently in the 8th grade.
  • .The student is 17 years or older on or before September 1 of the entering school year and has fewer than 3 credits.
  • The student is 18 years or older on or before September 1 of entering school year and has fewer than 15 credits.
  • The student is 19 years or older on or before September 1 of entering school year and has fewer than 15 credits.
  • The student is 20 years or older on or before September 1 of the entering school year.  [See Lancaster ISD Board Policy FD (LOCAL) regarding age limitations.
Preference for admission will be given to currently enrolled Lancaster ISD Students.
